Teaching Performance Assessment for Academic Staff process is carry out by Teaching and Learning Department in CAD, a centre that play important role in strengthening and improving excellence in teaching and learning in University. This process started since 2nd semester in session 2000/2001.
To help developing skills, knowledge, and professional attitude in teaching and learning of academic staff at UTHM.
The assessment is to help academic staff improvise and enhancing their teaching quality in learning process at UTHM.
Academic Staff Teaching Performance Assessment at University consist only three categories, which are teaching in lecture room, skills/workshop, and co-curricular. The assessment process is only for subject offered for diploma, degree, and post-graduate students.
The assessment is been carried out for once in each semester at University. This process is going on for two weeks, from week eleven to week twelve academic calendar.
One of the teaching and learning criteria that been assessed are, such as teaching and learning planning, delivery of the content, communication, and using teaching material.
The assessment is been carried out to fulfil the needs in ISO 9001:9002, a recognition awarded to UTHM, and still practicing here.
The result from this assessment will be used by academic staff to improvise and improve the quality of academic staff individually and to organization overall.
Responses of the assessment come from UTHM customer itself, which are students. Students will give their comment and evaluation via some questions about of their academic staff quality of teaching referring with specified assessment scope.
OMR form is use to get the responds from students. All forms are scan, and the reports of the assessment will be print out from Academic Staff Teaching Performance Assessment System.
